कोई देख रहा है लोक कथा

एक बार स्वामी रामकृष्ण परमहंस ने अपने शिष्यों को एक अजीब कार्य सौंपा । उन्होंने अपने सारे शिष्यों को बुलाया और सभी लोगों को अपने- अपने घर से थोड़ा चावल चुरा कर लाने को कहा। लेकिन शर्त यह थी कि चोरी करते हुए उन्हें कोई देख ना पाए। एकबारगी तो शिष्यों को यह सुनकर अटपटा लगा, लेकिन अपने गुरु की आज्ञा का पालन करना उन्होंने अपना धर्म समझा। कई दिनों की कोशिश के बाद सभी शिष्य अपनी पोटलियों में थोड़ा- थोड़ा चावल लेकर वापस आश्रम में आए । सभी शिष्यों के चेहरे पर एक संतोष का भाव था कि उन्होंने अपने गुरु द्वारा सौंपे गए कार्य को पूरा किया। लेकिन सिर्फ एक शिष्य था जो खाली हाथ लौट था। स्वामी परमहंस को जब पता चला तो उन्होंने उस शिष्य से खाली हाथ लौटने की वजह पूछी। शिष्य ने बड़ी विनम्रता से कहा, गुरु जी, मेंने सभी से छिपकर चोरी करने की कोशिश बार कोशिश की, लेकिन हर बार मैंने स्वय को वहां मौजूद पाया। इसलिए, कभी ऐसा अवसर ही नहीं आया, जब मुझे कोई देख न रहा हो।॑ गुरु जी ने अपने छात्रों की और संतुष्ट भाव से देखा और चावल लेकर आए अपने शिष्यों को समझाते हुए बोले, जब भी कभी हम कोई ग़लत काम करते हैं तो दुनिया से भले छिपा ले,मगर अपने आप से नहीं छिपा सकते। इसलिए मेरे शिष्यों,कोई अनैतिक कार्य करने से पहले हमेशा याद रखना कि तुम्हें कोई देख रहा है।'

Save the Environment

Six Methods:- Save the Environment

 A

Make conscious choices to lower your consumption of water.:-
 Conserving water not only helps save our resources for future generations, it can save you   money on your water bill as well. Little things you can do to save water include:-

·         Taking 5-minute showers or only filling the bathtub one-quarter to one-third of the way full.

·         Turning off the faucet while you are brushing your teeth.

·         Using urinals in public restrooms when they are available (for men and boys).

Wash only full loads of laundry in the washing machine to reduce waste.:-
 Putting just a couple of dirty clothes into the washing machine uses extra electricity and   wastes water. To save on electricity and reduce waste, wait until you have a full load of dirty clothes before running your machine.

·         If you only have a small load of clothes, wash them by hand instead.

·         Alternatively, consider investing in a high-efficiency washing machine.

C

Run your dishwasher only when it is completely full.:-
 Dishwashers not only use a lot of water, they use extra energy to heat the water up. Expect to save an average of Rs.2720.00 on your bills and prevent over 100 pounds (45 kg) of carbon pollution each year by only washing full loads.

·         If you only have a few dishes to wash and are washing by hand, use a plug to fill the sink about one-quarter of the way full. Don’t allow the tap to continuously run while you wash and rinse.

Install low-flow plumbing fixtures to help save water with every use. Consider putting low-flow faucets or faucet aerators in your kitchen and bathroom sinks, and low-flow shower heads and toilets in every bathroom in your home. A low-flow shower head can cost as little as Rs.680.00, but can reduce your water consumption by 30-50%.

Use a pool cover if you have an outdoor swimming pool:-
Using a cover will greatly reduce the amount of water that evaporates and thus the amount of water that is needed to refill the pool. The more the water in your pool evaporates the more water you need to use to fill the pool back up. Without a cover, you will use 30-50% more water.

·         For an affordable option, use a bubble-style solar cover; for a longer-lasting cover, try vinyl.

RECYCLE to lower the amount of environmental waste you produce:- 

Aim to recycle as much glass, metal, plastic, and paper as you can. If your area offers curbside recycling, use it. If your area doesn’t offer curbside service or if you have items not accepted for the regular service, take a special trip to a recycling center that is convenient for you.

·         Check the rules and regulations in your area to ensure you are recycling properly. For instance, some areas may not accept glass and some places may require you to separate your materials.

·         If you are required to separate your materials beforehand, get your children involved if you have them. Children often enjoy separating items and this teaches them to be environmentally conscious as well.

Dispose of hazardous waste properly:-

Many materials including fluorescent light bulbs, cleaning products, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, automotive fluids, paint, and e-waste (most anything with batteries or a plug) require special disposal. These items should never be thrown away in a landfill, sanitary sewer, or storm drain.

·         Do not use helium to inflate party balloons. Fill balloons with regular air and then hang them appropriately. Teach children (ages 8 and up) to blow up their own balloons, as they usually will find this to be more fun than using helium. Always pop balloons before throwing them away.

·         Contact your local waste management office for proper disposal options.

BAL KAHANI

बहुत पुरानी बात है। एक अमीर व्यापारी के यहाँ चोरी हो गयी। बहुत तलाश करने के बावजूद सामान न मिला और न ही चोर का पता चला। तब अमीर व्यापारी शहर के काजी के पास पहुँचा और चोरी के बारे में बताया।

सबकुछ सुनने के बाद काजी ने व्यापारी के सारे नौकरों और मित्रों को बुलाया। जब सब सामने पहुँच गए तो काजी ने सब को एक-एक छड़ी दी। सभी छड़ियाँ बराबर थीं। न कोई छोटी न बड़ी।सब को छड़ी देने के बाद काजी बोला, "इन छड़ियों को आप सब अपने अपने घर ले जाएँ और कल सुबह वापस ले आएँ। 

इन सभी छड़ियों की खासियत यह है कि यह चोर के पास जा कर ये एक उँगली के बराबर अपने आप बढ़ जाती हैं। जो चोर नहीं होता, उस की छड़ी ऐसी की ऐसी रहती है। न बढ़ती है, न घटती है। इस तरह मैं चोर और बेगुनाह की पहचान कर लेता हूँ।"काजी की बात सुन कर सभी अपनी अपनी छड़ी ले कर अपने अपने घर चल दिए।उन्हीं में व्यापारी के यहाँ चोरी करने वाला चोर भी था। जब वह अपने घर पहुँचा तो उस ने सोचा, "अगर कल सुबह काजी के सामने मेरी छड़ी एक उँगली बड़ी निकली तो वह मुझे तुरंत पकड़ लेंगे।फिर न जा ने वह सब के सामने कैसी सजा दें। इसलिए क्यों न इस विचित्र छड़ी को एक उँगली काट दिया जााए। ताकि काजी को कुछ भी पता नहीं चले।'

चोर यह सोच बहुत खुश हुआ और फिर उस ने तुरंत छड़ी को एक उँगली के बराबर काट दिया। फिर

उसे घिसघिस कर ऐसा कर दिया कि पता ही न चले कि वह काटी गई है।

अपनी इस चालाकी पर चोर बहुत खुश था और खुशीखुशी चादर तान कर सो गया। सुबह चोर अपनी

छड़ी ले कर खुशी खुशी काजी के यहाँ पहुँचा। वहाँ पहले से काफी लोग जमा थे।काजी १-१ कर छड़ी

देखने लगे। जब चोर की छड़ी देखी तो वह १ उँगली छोटी पाई गई।

उस ने तुरंत चोर को पकड़ लिया। और फिर उस से व्यापारी का सारा माल निकलवा लिया। चोर को

जेल में डाल दिया गया।सभी काजी की इस अनोखी तरकीब की प्रशंसा कर रहे थे। .

Save Water, Save life

Save Water, Save Life:-

                                                                                                            
Water is necessary for life. Water is needed for domestic,agricultural and industrial purposes.

Three - fourth of Earth's surface is covered by water bodies 95% of this water is present in oceans as salt water and is unfit for human consumption. Fresh water accounts for only about 2.7 %. (per cent.) Nearly 70% of this occurs  as ice sheets and glaciers and Antarctica and other inaccessible places. Only 1 per  cent of fresh water is  available and fit for human use. So it is very important  to conserve this precious resource, And yet we are contaminating the existing water resources with sewage, toxic chemicals and other wastes. Increasing population and rapid urbanization has led to over - use of water resources leading to water pollution and scarcity.

Water scarcity can be defined as a situation when people don't have enough water to fulfill their basic needs. India is one of the many countries that are facing water scarcity today, In Rajasthan and some parts of Gujarat, women have to cover long distances on foot in order to get a pot of water. In cities like Bangalore, a family has to spend from Rs. 15 to Rs. 20 to meet their daily water needs.

The problem becomes severe during summer months when availability of water decreases again.

A recent study has  revealed that about 25 per cent of urban population lack the accessibility to fresh water. Also there are several cases of privatization of water bodies. This often leads to water scarcity  in the nearby areas.                                                                                      

                                                                                                                               

There are different methods to deal with water scarcity. Rain water harvesting is the best and most suitable method. Forest and other vegetation cover reduce surface runoff and recharge ground water. So, practice afforestation. we can also promote water conservation through media and any conducting public awareness programmers.

By practising these simple steps we can conserve water and ensure the availability of water to future generations, So don't tarry, start saving each and every drop of water. Let our motto be "Save water, Save life, save the world".

लोकथा : प्रयास

  

जर्मनी में एक बालक बिलहेम पढ़ने में जी चुराता। उसकी मां जब उसे 

स्कूल ले जाती,तो वह नखरे करता। स्कूल मै भी पढ़ता कम और शरारतें करता ज्यादा।

एक दिन स्कूल से रोकते हुए वह सड़क पर खेल रहे बच्चों को देखकर मां से बोला, 'आप मुझे स्कूल क्यों भेजती है ?ये बच्चे भी तो बिना स्कुल गए ही बड़े हो रहे हैं।' देखिए ये कितने खुब हैं।' मां चुपचाप सुनती रही। दूसरे दिन उसने बिलहेम को घर के बहार उग आए झाड़- झंखाड़ की ओर दिखाते हुए पुछा, 'बताओ बेटा, इन्हें किसने उगाया हैं ?' विल्हेम बोला, ' मां, ये तो खुद ही उग आते हैं और ओस, बारिश का पानी और सुरज की गर्मी पाकर बढ़ जाते हैं ।' फिर मां ने घर में लगे गुलाब के पौधों को दिखाते हुए पूछा, ' और अब बताओ, ये फूल कैसे लग रहे हैं ?' बिलहेम ने जवाब दिया, मां ये तो बहुत ही सुन्दर लग रहे हैं। इन्हें तो पिताजी रोज तराशते हैं और नियम से खाद-बीज पानी भी देते हैं।' मां बिलहेम से यही सुनना चहाती थी। उसने तपाक से कहा, 'बिल्कुल ठीक। ये फूल इसलिए ज्यादा सुंदर है। क्योंकि इन्हें प्रयास करके ऐसा बनाया गया है। जीवन भी ऐसा ही है। हमें अच्छा जीवन प्रयासों से ही मिलता है। इसके लिए अच्छी शिक्षा, बेहतर प्रशिक्षण और परिश्रम की जरूरत पड़ती हैं। तुममे और उन बच्चों में क्या फर्क है। यह तुम्हे आगे चलकर पता चलेगा।' मां की यह सीख विल्हेम ने गांठ बांध ली। आगे चलकर इन्हीं बिलहेम ने एक्स - रेटेड की खोज की और भौतिकी में नोबेल पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया।
